Joe Meade, of Omega Sevyn, a preacher's son, started singing as a young child in church and later with his families' Gospel group. As a child he toured California occasionally with his family and a gospel quartet called "The Regents." Joe also started playing drums for the family band. When Joe was approximately 18, he formed a an electronic band called "Synthetic Black" in Lakewood, California.
