The group is primarily composed of family (Laura and Marcus married; David Marcus' father; Kathy Laura's mother) and good friends who have played, prayed, and served together over the years. The band began as a worship team in early 2009 for church services and Bible studies in Costa Mesa California, and also performed musical outreaches/Christmas productions together to the local homeless community. "What brings us together as a group is our shared love for music; beyond this, however, is our passion for God, a love for people, and a love for each other" says bandleader Marcus Powell who writes and arranges much of the material.
