Album: A Joyous Hallelujah!
Two thousand and some years ago, word went out across the land
It was decreed by Caesar Augustus there'd be a count of every man.
And for the census to be taken each must depart from where they are
And travel to their birth home, it didn't matter how near or far.
Now it came to be that Joseph, a humble man from David's line,
Was betrothed to Mary from Nazareth, all part of God's design.
When an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph and said "be not afraid"
Mary's chosen to deliver the Son the God, and Jesus will be His name.
No room … no room …
There was no room for fear or doubt,
Bout' how the future would all work out
There's no room … no room … There's no room.
Joseph and Mary headed out on their journey to Bethlehem
The two would travel for many days to meet their destination's end
When they finally entered into town, it was clear that her time had come
And they searched in desperation for a place for to deliver God's Son.
But there's no room … no room
He went from door to door in vain, but still the answer remained the same.
There's no room….no room…
There's no space left within; we're sorry, but you can't come in
There's no room….no room….there's no room.
They settled in a stable with the oxen and the lamb
With the darkness of the night there came a hush across the land
Then the silences were broken with a newborn baby's cry
Immanuel … God with us … the Christ child has arrived!
To worship and adore Him, many kings and shepherds came
All Heav'n rejoiced—they knew the world would never be the same
Our Redeemer, Counselor, Prince of Peace, has reigned o'r all the earth
Since that blessed night so long ago, that hailed the Saviour's birth
When there was no room…no room
He went from door to door in vain, but still the answer remained the same
There's no room, no room…
There's no room for fear or doubt, bout' how the future would all work out
There's no room, no room…there's no room….
There's no room…there's no room.
