Raised in the southern United States, Joel Vaughn grew up in a somewhat nomadic household living in multiple states across the country over the years. He began to sing in church by the age of 7 and travelled the country from the day he was born. He was born in South Carolina but considers both Alabama and Texas to be where he grew up.
