Tammy started singing when she was only eight years old. Her Mom and Dad were regulars at area revivals and church services across Ohio and Kentucky. She also sang With them on her Grandpa's radio program, where he would preach and they would sing. Tammy's mom and dad would stand her on a chair to sing while her mother would play the guitar and her dad played the mandolin. These were very formative years as they would continue on into the future where Tammy and her three siblings would sing together as The Jones Family for twelve years.
