Album: Aaron Tippin 25
Well it was back in the year of '39
The good ol' boys were runnin' the shine
And the Georgia man was drivin' on that night
It was a 37 Lincoln Coupe
Loaded down with the illegal hooch
7 miles from the Georgia line
Now the Macon country Sheriff said
He'd stop the fools or end up dead
But he didn't know what lay in store that night
The moon was shining bright and clear,
and about that time headlights appeared
And suddenly, his Lincoln came in sight
Now the sheriff stood outside his car
And the Lincoln stopped with screeching tires
And all the while was a witness to this stand
Then the Lincoln door swung open wide
That Mountain Man stepped outside
With a .45 that he held in both his hands
Now the he Sheriff stepped back a bit
and the Mountain Man he spoke and spit
And these were the words he said as he smiled
(Yeah) My mommas up in Heaven,
My daddys down in hell
Just outside the Claytons' where my girlfriend lives
And I don't wanna hurt you none and I don't want a fight
But I'm gonna see one of them tonight
Yes sir, I'm gonna see one of them tonight
