I've heard about a holy man
Preachin' from a hill
I've seen him doing miracles
I know that they are real
He's healing all the blind men
The lepers and the lame
And driving out demons
And Jesus is his name

He fed five thousand people
With five small loaves of bread
Two fish was all the meat they had
But everyone was fed
He changed the water into wine
Just like his mama said to do

I wonder if this man can change me too.
I see him when he's teaching
And I ask him to
Tell me if I want eternal life
What good thing must I do?
I've followed the commandments
The large ones and the small
He says take your possessions
And sell them one and all
Now I'm a very rich man
But now I'm also sad
Because the gift that Jesus gives
Could not be bought with all I had

He fed four thousand people
