Album: Heart Made of Wind

They play guitars underneath the sky, I've seen it all firsthand And they sing and they dance and they smile, and speak a language that I understand And the starlight makes it's magic just the way I've seen it happen a thousand times before And if so much is the same, there's no way I could be that far from home These bridges all have railways, the streets have dotted lines, it comes as no surprise And with every mile that passes underneath my wheels, the pictures change before my eyes As the sunlight hits the buildings in the rising and the setting of familiar warmth and gold And if so much is the same there's no way I could be that far from home Beyond this city there's a bakery; across the borders I can smell it's gravitational pull Beyond this country someone's praying; do they know that I'll be back before they know? I break my fifty and I trade it for a one-way bus pass headed north And the landmarks fly straight past me out the window of everything I've seen before And the engine takes to humming, I fall asleep and start to dream of all the happiness I know But if I can smell the bread, check the mail, get the phone, climb my roof, see your house, hear the bells, have this dream There's no way in this world that I could ever really be that far from home
