Album: Fallen Identities - Single
I read the other day.. ."The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity;
but a wounded spirit who can bear?" - Proverbs 18:14
Furious passion beaten down to a silent hum
Carefully curated to suit our security
But our life never goes on.
Until we want it that way, cos sometimes less is never more
Stolen identities will crumble one day,
And shamelessly bow to our propensity for mediocrity,
as we silence the voice of truth to compromise our intrinsic value of the human spirit
Vain ignorance glorified
Rise now to the voice of truth from above
All of the broken past
They scar us
But we can make something out of our wounds
Three crosses on that hill, one man for us all.
Existence dangerously precedes living
But we were never meant to be that way
We can tell ourselves a million lies in desperation of not wanting to jeopardize what we've become
Control is always a facade, which we never want to believe as comfort rots our soul in glorious subtlety
And all it takes is one honest plea, one honest cry for help
Our brokenness points the rudder at a God who crafted us in his image,
who steps down to fix this mess we've become
Rise now to the voice of truth from above
All of the broken past
They scar us
But we can make something out of our wounds
Three crosses on that hill, one man for us all
Embrace your fall, 'cos there is redemption in it.
