Searching for answers, I wondered why would God even help me

Then He reached down his tender hand of mercy
Picked me up though I'm so unworthy, it's amazing
He looked beyond my failures and saw what I could be
It's hard to believe, that He could love what was left of me

Broken and battered, yet He came my way
Seeking the lost, those who'd astrayed
He held me close to His heart that day, I found I peace
Considered me worth the price that He paid
On that rugged cross, for He took my place
I'm now forgiven, redeemed by His grace
He loved me.
