Album: The Footsteps of God
The desert sands had long burned hot
The sun had run its course
The line of souls waiting to judge
Had dwindled to a close
Among the shattered rocks and ruins
The twilight settled in
The judgement of the Lord had cast
A light on all our sin
The time had trickled slowly and
The hourglass had run out
No-one was left to say their piece
They all had been cast out
The Christians all ascended and
The heathens went to Hell
And Earth itself rang silent like
The steeple's missing bell
And God looked down and shook his head
At all that had transpired
While all had clamoured to pass judgement
No one escaped the fire
Except of course those precious few
Who'd called on him by name
Believing ancient prophecies
And living by that faith
He smiled when he thought of them
He knew them all by name
For one by one they'd come to him
And all their lives had changed
He turned around and there they were
The children he had called
This place, the new Jerusalem
Was filled from wall to wall
Why do we judge what others do
When we ourselves are weak
The Lord gives them what they deserve
And to us what we shall seek
Why do we judge what others do
When we ourselves are weak
The Lord gives them what they deserve
And to us what we shall seek
Why do we judge what others do
When we ourselves are weak
The Lord gives them what they deserve
And to us what we shall seek
Why do we judge what others do
When we ourselves are weak
The Lord gives them what they deserve
And to us what we shall seek
