Usein painaa ja valvottaa
omatunto kun kolkuttaa
se on varmaa, joka kahlaa synnissä
rauhaa ei hän saa

Tämän hetken voin unohtaa,
sitä velkaa taas maksetaan
Siihen harhaan koko maailma on koukussa
huutaa tuskissansa:

Miksi Herra sallit pahan lyöda ihmistä taas
Kaikkivaltiaana kaiken estää sä voisit

Paaduttaa voinhan itseni jälleen,
kaivaa kuoppaa tippua päälleen.
Toistaa lauseen tunnetun ääneen:
parannuksen huomenna teen.

Taikka laulaa:
katkaista saan siteet valheen
nyt irroittaa vihdoinkin kahleen
Jeesus auttaa toivottomuudesta
ja rauhan saan sydämeen.

Kovan koulun sain aloittaa,
Herra laittoi mut huomaamaan
omat synnit:
miten hirret silmissä on niin korkeat

Ennen etsin vain taivaalta
joka vuoristosta ja huipulta
Tuli Jeesus, joka olikin jo pohjalla
armo syntiselle

Jospa pahan poistais Herra oisin ensimmäinen,
sinä toinen myöskin kaiki ihmiset maan.

English translation:

It often weighs me down and doesn't let me sleep
when my conscience beats me
it's sure that the one who wades trough sin
can't have peace

I can forget this moment
that's the debt that's being paid again
That's the illusion the whole world is depending on
shouting in agony

Why do you let the evil hit people again, Lord?
As the Almighty you could prevent it all

I can still harden myself
dig a hole, fall on my head.
Repeat the common sentence aloud:
I'm going to make an amendment tomorrow.

Or sing:
I can finally cut the restrains of lies
and cast off the chain
Jesus helps when I'm in despair
and I can have peace in my heart.

I was made to start the hard lessons
Lord made me to see
my own sins:
how the planks in my eyes are so high.

Before I only searched the sky,
every mountain and every peak.
Then came Jesus, who already was at the bottom
the forgiveness for a sinner

If the Lord would remove the evil, I would be the first
you the second and then every people on Earth
