Standing in the alley of decision
Trying hard to make the right choice
The devil had called, I staggered and stalled
Captured by a sweeter, gentler voice
My life had become like a tavern
Lonely and darkened with sin
Jesus said, "Let Me in, I'll be your friend"
That's when renovation began

From a tavern to a temple
Where the Holy Spirit dwells
What a difference His love made
And my soul was saved from hell
Grace hung a new sign
Above my heart's door
Now this temple is not a tavern anymore

Old friends that once hung 'round the tavern
They don't have a home
Since things have changed
Addiction to fear and terror reigned here
Till lovingly He healed and rearranged
There's peace now inside of the temple
Satan has forever lost the war
Now my heart is a throne for Jesus alone
