Album: Ain't Finished Yet
I slid down the edge of a dry river bank, tree roots reaching, begging for a drink.
Out in the middle was one shallow stream, over the rocks and the life-threatening heat.
I filled my hands with water, soothed my lips from the fire, washed my crusty eyes,
cooled the blisters on my brow.
On one knee I trembled, the water spoke within.
Easy is the river, hard the way of sin.
I am the river, for the thirsty I will rise.
Feel your inner belly overflowing from the tide.
I am the river that opened your eyes.
Drink this living water,
the river never runs dry.
That stream out in the middle drew larger as I drank.
The fire that was raging became embers by the lake.
That dusty river bank filled with ointment for my feet.
I heard the water say as I slowly fell asleep.
I am the river, if you're thirsty I will rise.
Feel your inner belly overflowing from the tide.
I am the river that opened your eyes.
Drink this living water,
the river never runs dry.
I woke in a garden shaded by the trees where once was a desert.
Now the grass was green,
the cool rain was falling from the gently bending leaves.
His voice broke the silence.
Come and walk with me.
I am the river, if you're thirsty I will rise.
Feel your inner belly overflowing from the tide.
I am the river that opened your eyes.
Drink this living water.
I am the river, if you're thirsty I will rise.
Feel your inner belly overflowing from the tide.
I am the river that opened your eyes.
Drink this living water.
