Then I heard a preacher, who knew all about my sin.
He said that God still loved me, Though he knew how bad I'd been.
He preached about that precious blood, That Jesus shed for me.
To make me righteous in God's eyes. As good as I could be.

I never will forget the day, That Jesus saved my soul.
He blotted out my sinful past, And washed me white as snow.
I still remember how I felt, When sin had broken me.
I thought this desperate wretched man, Was all i'd ever be.

Then I heard a preacher, who knew all about my sin.
He said that God still loved me, Though he knew how bad I'd been.
He preached about that precious blood, That Jesus shed for me.

Jesus took my sin and gave, His righteousness to me.
That's the only way that I could be, As good as I could be.
