WDVA 1250 AM first signed on the air June 29th, 1947. WDVA began as a country station but with the powerful FM stations in the area, the station went off the air for a while. In 1983, the station returned to the airwaves to broadcast Black Gospel and Religious programming and the new owners never looked back.
